Did you know that when you delete a text message from your phone that it is not actually deleted?
I'll try not to get technical here. When a text message is deleted the phone knows that the memory that was holding that message is now available. New information can be stored in the memory that has been made available. If new information is stored e.g. a new text message, in the available memory then the previous message will be permanently deleted with now way of retrieving it.
However that memory that stores the deleted message may not be touched for quite some time. If you want to check someones phone or retrieve deleted messages from your own phone then there is a very high chance that you will be able to do so.
